Recently, care for the stūpā has been taken over by the local Vajrayāna communities including the Florida DDC, Pema Tallahassee, and the Natural Dharma Fellowship. Rinpoché will perform the reconsecration, lead us in a smoke offering, and give some teachings on the meaning and symbolism of the Buddhist stūpā.
*** For this portion of the event, please keep in mind that space is limited to within reason (approx. 20-25 people). ***
Because the stūpā is located on private property outside of Havana, FL, we will meet at the Tallahassee Tibetan Center (1103 Hays St.) and carpool to the actual location. This will minimize the number of vehicles, making parking easier and reducing the impact on both the environment and the property. Exact details are forthcoming, but we will meet at the Tallahassee Tibetan Center at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, April 7th.
*** Please note that there are no restrooms at the stūpā location, so use of the facilities before arriving is advised. Bring whatever you might need to be comfortable outdoors as is appropriate for the weather: hats, water, sunscreen, insect repellent, folding chairs, blankets to sit on, etc. ***
On the evening of Thursday, April 8th, Drupön-la will offer a Guru Rinpoché empowerment and teachings on the associated practice. The starting time will be 7:00 PM, so please be prompt.
Interviews with Rinpoché will be possible on Thursday, April 8
th, in the morning and early afternoon.
Please contact ddc.florida@gmail.com for the location of the interviews and with any questions you may have.
