These practices are open to anyone and do not require empowerment or transmission. If you are new to Tibetan Buddhism, please come a little early — by 6:30pm — to get some simple orientation to these practices. Please email the Florida DDC or call 813-313-6362 / 850-445-0387 to confirm that we're meeting. Practice is at 1103 Hays Street.
The 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:00 - 11:00am, led by Rebecca Spainhower and associated with the Foundation for Active Compassion. These guided meditations are adapted from the Dzogchen tradition of Tibet to help participants deepen their experience of liberating wisdom and loving compassion — the essence of the spirit of enlightenment (bodhicitta). Each session consists of chanting, breathing, and meditation practice, and is followed by a brief Q&A.
Open Awareness
The 4th Saturday of the month from 10:00 - 11:00am, associated with the Natural Dharma Fellowship and again led by Becky. Experience the natural ease of open awareness practice in the Dzogchen tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Through chanting, breathing, and resting, allow your heart and mind to relax in the freshness of the Great Perfection — everything left just as it is. Practice sessions are followed by a brief practice-related discussion period. Becky Spainhower is a student and practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism in the Dzogchen and Mahamudra traditions. She is an associate teacher with the Natural Dharma Fellowship and with the Foundation for Active Compassion. Please join our Google Group for regular announcements.
