The monastery Wogmin Thubten Shedrup Ling was founded in Tibet by the great Drikung Kagyu terton and tantric master Nuden Dorje. In 1971, after returning to India from Ladakh, Ontul Rinpoche purchased a parcel of land on the sacred lake Tso Pema to found a new Wogmin Thubten Shedrup Ling in exhile. This is the center of Ontul Rinpoche's activities. The monastery has some 50+ monks in age from 5 to 75, many of them orphans and poor refugees struggling for suport.
Drikung Pe-Tsak Nang-Cho Lo-Ling
The Drikung Lotus Mount Academy, named by H. H. Chetsang Rinpoche, is a personal project of Ontul Rinpoche aimed at teaching young monks the dharma. The project includes a hostel for up to 150 monks, with six classrooms for teaching English, Tibetan and Hindi, as well as instruction in tantric sacred arts and meditation.
Lhundrup Ling Institute (LLI)
This is a special dharma language institute, providing two-month intensive courses in modern standard Tibetan, classical Tibetan (the language of the dharma), and Tibetan buddhist philosophy specific to the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The goal is to train a new generation of Tibetan translators.
Mandarava Retreat Center (MRC)
Ontul Rinpoche has recently acquired land on Tso Pema for long-term retreatants. This retreat center would provide an opportunity for extensive retreat in a place of great blessings-- Tso Pema.
